Assist Green Power Winter Olympics Contribute the Taikai Power

The Beijing Winter Olympic Games ended successfully, and Chinese athletes wrote a splendid chapter. Taikai helped Beijing Winter Olympic venues achieve the first 100% green power supply in the history of the Olympic Games.

On December 30, 2021, Fengning Pumped Storage Power Station in Chengde City, Hebei Province, located in the hinterland of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province, was put into operation for power generation. Shandong Taikai High Voltage Switchgear Co., Ltd. provided 550kV GIS with 18 aboveground circuit breaker bays and 6 underground combined units for the power station to operate synchronously and live, providing a continuous supply of clean power for the Beijing Winter Olympics, ensuring the normal operation of the Olympic venues and the smooth holding of various events.

On June 9, 2020, the 535kV coupling negative hybrid DC circuit breaker of Kangbanuoer Converter Substation was officially put into operation on Fukang line after completing the on-site artificial short circuit test. The Zhangbei Renewable Energy Flexible DC Power Grid Test Demonstration Project (referred to as Zhangbei Flexible DC Project), where the Kangbanoer Converter Station is located, is the world's first ultra-high voltage flexible DC power grid project with real network characteristics. As a key supporting project for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, it will provide 100 million kilowatt-hours of high-quality electricity annually for the 26 Winter Olympic venues in Beijing and Zhangjiakou to ensure the realization of "zero carbon Olympics".

The 126kV GIS equipment produced by the Power Switchgear Company has been successfully applied in the 100-megawatt advanced compressed air energy storage demonstration project in Zhangbei County. This project is the first set of 100MW new compressed air energy storage system in the world. It has the advantages of large scale, high efficiency, low cost, environmental protection, and is considered as a large-scale energy storage technology with great development potential.

The Hebei Construction and Investment Kangbao Dayingtu Parity Online Demonstration Project, built in Ertaifang Village, Lujiaying, Zhangjiakou Kangbao County, uses our 35kV SF6 GIS products. The power generation scale of the project is 100MW, mainly using wind energy to generate electricity, covering the surrounding areas, and providing safe and reliable clean electricity for the Winter Olympics.

The 220kV Yanjiatun substation of Zhangjiakou Power Supply Company of State Grid Jibei Electric Power Co., Ltd. uses 35kV open-type composite apparatus equipment of the power switchgear company. The project is responsible for the important task of supplying power to one of the host cities of the Winter Olympics (Chongli County).

The Shougang ski diving platform is the first competition venue in the history of the Winter Olympics that directly combines with the reuse of industrial heritage. The National Speed Skating Pavilion, also known as "Ice Ribbon", is the first speed skating venue in the history of the Winter Olympics to use carbon dioxide as a refrigerant. As one of the main suppliers of cables in the two venues, Taikai Cable Company mainly provides 110kV cables and accessories, 10kV cables and accessories.

From Beijing to Zhangjiakou, there are more than 80 venues in three competition areas. As a mobile unmanned aerial vehicle intelligent airport, the vehicle has integrated control, communication, storage, power supply and other modules, which can carry six unmanned aerial vehicles. It can realize a single time multiple unmanned aerial vehicles take off at the same time with one button, landing accurately in turn, multi-aircraft multi-task coordination, autonomous fine patrol, greatly improving the efficiency of line patrol.
